Caustic comedian Joan Rivers was making progress in small increments as she continues fighting for her life in a Manhattan hospital, a new report claimed Tuesday.
Rivers, 81, remained in Mount Sinai Hospital five days after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest during a routine doctor’s visit.
But E! News reports that Rivers, with the support of her daughter Melissa, was showing some positive signs.

Doctors at Mount Sinai quickly placed her into a medically induced coma as they began running tests on the Emmy-winning Rivers.
Joan Rivers to be Revived From Medically Induced Coma
Joan Rivers will reportedly be taken out of her medically induced coma so doctors can establish her status.
Melissa Rivers and other close friends are maintaining a bedside vigil while hoping for good news on Tuesday.
“She is a rock,” the source told E! News about Melissa. “She is calmer than I’ve ever seen her ... She is her mother’s daughter and she’s tough as nails. She’s the person keeping everyone together.”
Melissa and her son Cooper flew cross-country Thursday after hearing the bad news, and she has been with her mother ever since.
