A Delta flight from New York's LaGuardia Airport bound Monday night for Palm Beach International Airport was diverted to Jacksonville after a passenger dispute about, you guessed it, personal space and a reclining seat.
An onboard witness told a West Palm Beach TV station that after the woman seated next to him reclined her seat the passenger behind her started screaming and swearing and demanding that the flight land.
Delta confirmed that due to a "passenger disruption" and with an "abundance of caution" the pilot put the plane down in Jacksonville, where local law enforcement took over.
Rage over seat recliners has been in the news quite a bit lately. Last week, a fight over the use of the plastic Knee Defender gadget caused a flight from Newark to Denver to be diverted to Chicago's O'Hare Airport. And an American Airlines flight from Miami to Paris was diverted to Boston on Wednesday.
