iPhone 6: Everything you need to know

The iPhone 6 is coming, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.
With less than two weeks before the iPhone 6 launch date, rumours and leaks are flying thick and fast. Here’s what we think we know so far.
Apple has created two different iPhone 6 models.
The consensus is that Apple will release two different iPhone 6 models, one with a 4.7-inch screen and the other with a 5.5-inch screen. The larger iPhone may be called the iPhone 6L.
The biggest iPhone 6 might not be ready yet
Multiple reports suggest that only one of the two iPhone 6 models will go on sale in September. The larger model may be weeks or even months later due to production issues.
It has a better screen, a faster charger, a better camera and a thinner case
The charger has been redesigned to offer faster charging, there’s a bigger battery and at least some models are expected to have super-tough sapphire glass displays. The case is so thin that the camera lens protrudes. Expect a faster processor – Apple’s A8 – and a faster 4G radio.
Some of the iPhone 6 specs are just wishful thinking
Reports of reversible USB cables have been debunked – apparently Apple’s experimenting with the design but hasn’t ordered any – and wireless charging is rather unlikely. Some rumours say the iPhone 6 will have a NFC (Near Field Communication) chip like Android phones do, but those rumours have said the same thing about every iPhone since the iPhone 3G.
The iPhone 6 may be available with 128GB of storage
And if it is, Apple’s likely to give that storage a hilarious price tag. Chinese website Tencent says that the 16GB model has been canned, with the entry level model coming with 32GB.
Nobody knows the iPhone 6 UK price yet
We’d expect prices to be similar to the current iPhone 5S, which starts at £549 unlocked. The larger model is likely to cost more.
The iPhone 6 UK launch date is September 9
That’s what multiple reports tell us, anyway. Apple usually releases the iPhone in the UK at the same time as the US. If history repeats we’d expect iPhone 6s to reach the shops in mid-to-late September.
