Another change in the bowling by captain Dhoni as he gets the centurion Suresh Raina to bowl out some magic just like he did with his flamboyant batting. Hello and welcome to the second One-Day International (ODI) match of the five-match series between India and England at Cardiff on Wednesday. We at India.com will be bringing to you the live updates of this exciting encounter. India’s tour of England 2014 has not gone according to plans for MS Dhoni and his boys with a humiliating 1-3 loss in the five-match Test series recently, but when it comes to the shorter format of the colourful game, the world champions always boast of an upper hand. Itching to prove the critics wrong, the Men in Blue will take on the field at Cardiff for the second ODI. Their first battle was called off as the rain gods played their cards and ensured the match was abandoned.
Alastair Cook-led side England displayed a dominating performance in the Test Series but they, like the tourists, are facing turmoil in the 50-over format. Just like Indian team is witnessing a lot of off-field drama with Ravi Shashtri coming on board as the team director, with coach Duncan Fletcher’s role being scrutinized before the World Cup 2015, England side is also facing some serious drama. Former players Michael Vaughan and Graeme Swann have stirred a controversy by saying the current England side ‘Alastair Cook and Co.’ should not participate in World Cup 2015 as they have ‘no chance’ of winning.
Both India and England find themselves on a sticky wicket in the preparations to the World Cup 2015 and would be keen to prove their detractors wrong. The match played at the Cardiff will be taken very seriously by both teams to get an early advantage in the series. Both Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Alastair Cook have a point to prove and there could be nothing better than a win here at Cardiff.
